If It Quacks Like A Pyramid…

Who gets the Pyramid Quack award?

On our conference call the other day people wondered how to talk and act so that people would stop asking “Is this a pyramid/one of those things?”

One way is to stop forever saying and doing the things that evoke this image in the minds of others i.e. people “who abuse their friends and try to sell them stuff and get them to sell and take a percent.”

For years it’s been all about getting people to sell and recruit. That’s the reason countless people discouraged and ridiculed my customeroriented students “There’s no money in customers. All the money’s in the recruiting.”

I’ve taught hundreds of classes to those who prefer to amass customers. It’s lucrative in some companies and many stayed in the business because they learned how to do that instead of quitting.

But some companies pay you to act like you’re a pyramid type. We will bestow upon them the “Pyramid Quack” award. Yes here. To encourage them to change their pyramid quacking ways which make their people look bad.

If it quacks like a pyramid…

Some people don’t know it from the way the business is promoted but we do two things to make money in the network marketing business:

1 get customers earn a percent on their orders
2 Get sales reps who want to get customers and more sales reps earn a percent on their orders

So based on what they pay people to do which companies get the Pyramid Quack award?

One gal Phyllis a Tahitian Noni rep for years told the group this:

Typical order: 120 for the Noni juice per month.
Pay for getting a customer who doesn’t sell it to buy it: 6. That’s like 5 for getting a 120 order.!!

With such puny pay who’d want to go after customers? They don’t and haven’t for years she said. This pay plan tells it all: We pay you to get recruits people who sell it. We don’t care about customers who just buy it and who don’t sell it.

So we were about to bestow upon the Tahitian Noni International pay plan the Pyramid Quack award.

Then with great pride she announced to the group: “But Kim this past year they’ve worked to change it because I think they heard you. As of May 1 2006 they are paying 20 for customer orders. So now we get 24 for each of those orders!”

That’s what 3 days ago? After almost 10 years of being in business.

I Am Getting Thousands Of Visitors Are You?

I just finished my website and I am ready to go. I sit and wait and I do not see any traffic why is this. I thought if I designed a nice website and published it on the internet I should be receiving tons of traffic where is everyone.

What do I have to do to get traffic? Is there a secret that I don’t know? No there is no secret. You just need to know the basics you can receive paid traffic the next day or you can take the free route and be patient and wait for traffic the choice is yours. Most people want traffic yesterday. Here are a couple of ways you can get traffic quickly but you will need shell out the dollars to do it.

1. You could pay for PPC advertising; this is basically advertising on search engines and having your ad show up in the sponsor section.

2. You could pay for banner ads on high traffic websites. For instance I read about a person who paid 2000 dollars for 1 month on a banner ad that was on a website that received thousands of visitors a day. From this 2000 they made 20000 dollars from sales.

3. You can place ads on popular video websites so when visitors watch the videos they will see your advertisement.

4. Buy text links on high traffic sites.

If you are patient there are other ways of creating traffic but it will take time to do. Here are a couple of free suggestions to start creating traffic to your website. Do not expect traffic for about 30 days. It will start slow but your traffic will build overtime.

1. Write articles about your business and submit them to article directories
2. Submit your website to directories
3. Create videos and publish them on video sites.
4. Write a press release and distribute the press release
5. Use the social bookmark sites
6. Make your content easy to understand so many people can understand and spread your message.
7. Trade your articles with other webmasters
8. Create a piece of software code that others can use on their website
9. Post to a forum build your reputation
10. Post to a blog build your reputation
11. Publish RSS feed
12. Write testimonials for other webmasters products make sure you receive a link back to your site.

By using these methods that I listed you will create traffic to your website. It will just take some time to do. Don’t forget something very important about the methods I listed you must get links back to your website. These are like votes from other websites letting the search engines know that your website is an authority website. So when you are posting to a forum make sure you create your link in the signature. If you are creating a video make sure the video site you are submitting your video to has away of linking back to you or make sure you include your link in the video itself. You want to make sure that people can find your website.

The name of the game is getting many ‘one way links’ to your website as possible. These links will help your website move up in the search engine rankings. The more popular your website is the faster your website climbs to page one.

How To Use Squidoo To Earn Affiliate Commissions

The latest big trend online is the rise of web 2.0 social networking websites. Squidoo is at the forefront of this wave and unlike most other social network sites they allow you to blatantly advertise and make money promoting what you like.

People who use this platform create what are called lenses and are known as lensmasters. These lenses can be thought of as simaler to blogs. They allow anyone who creates them to establish their expertise on a subject. So if you are an affiliate why should you care about squidoo? Here are some of the advantages you will get by becoming a lensmaster.

1. It is easy and fast to make a lens. You don’t need any special programming or web design skills.

2. It doesn’t cost anything to be a lensmaster.

3. Squidoo shares the revenue it makes from adsense and other offers they display on your pages with you. You have the option to donate the money to charity or keep it.

4. The pages are heavily favored in Google search results. Most lenses get ranked quickly and easily for most keywords.

5. You are viewed as an expert on the topic you write your page about.

6. You can put your own affiliate links on your lenses so you can earn multiple income streams.

7. You get a significant amount of traffic from other lensmasters since it is a social network site. Squidoo also rewards lensmasters who keep improving and promote their lenses with a higher lensrank. The higher your lensrank the more traffic it will get.

Hopefully these benefits have sold you on creating a lens of your own to promote your favorite affiliate programs. Once you make a page you need traffic to get the commissions rolling in. Here are some methods of promotion I recommend and use.

1. Join groups on the site related to your topic. This will get links to your webpage and improve its lensrank and position in the search engines.

2. Use bookmarking sites such as del.icio.us to get high quality links.

3. Write articles with links to your lens in your bio box and submit the articles for syndication on other websites just like I have done here.

4. Update your page with new content regularly to get a better lensrank and more search engine traffic. More content means more traffic.

5. Create blogs elsewhere and link them to your lenses.

In theory you can create as many lenses and hence as much income as you want. In practice you have to use caution because many spam pages have been deleted by the moderators of the site. To avoid having your hard work ruined I recommend not making more than a handfull of lenses and they should all be about distinctly different topics.

They should also have a good amount of original content on them to avoid being seen as spammy. Well there it is. If you create a good quality page following my suggestions and promote it well you should start to see some good commissions from your work.
